Where to go for my birthday?
As much as I don't want to celebrate, DH wants to go out for a nice night together and I figure it's a good idea. I don't want to break the bank since so much money is going to fertility treatments right now, but I'm sick of our usual places (PF CHangs, Miyako, Maggianos) and want to go somewhere new. What are you favorite restaurants around town that are special without being hundreds of dollars?
Re: Where to go for my birthday?
Sol or Red Pony in downtown Franklin
Or that place in the Factory (can't remember the name off the top of my head...)
HM PR - 2:07:28 10K PR - 56:23 5K PR - 26:42
Upcoming Races:
3/11 - Tom King Half Marathon 5/6 - Flying Pig Marathon
I was thinking Sol (my new fav restaurant), but I think we're going there w/ my parents Sunday night (my bday is Mon)...
That place in the factory that replaced the flying horse or the one inside? I can't remember the name either, but I've always wanted to try it - I'll look into that!
Thanks!

In Franklin./Cool Springs - Saffire, Basil
Metro Nashville area - City House, Tayst, Zola, Park Cafe
I don't know if they still do it but Saffire used to do 1/2 price bottles of wine Tuesday. We've had some very good wines there cheaper than they are at the wine store.
If you are up for the drive to Nashville, I'd highly suggest Mirror (my perpetual favorite). You can get a good sized meal for just under or hovering at $20 a plate. They also have several tapas/appetizers that you can add up/share to a decent sized meal. Desserts are fabulous too. Just do yourself a favor if you're on the high and dry and don't even pick up the drink menu. Just don't.
I also really like City House too. Especially desserts.
Bound'ry is a little pricey, but the way they set up their menu, you can get smaller portions for smaller prices.
Or if you need to save money and can sit tight until Sunday, do brunch and a day date and make your man make dinner for you. Brunch tends to be much better quality food than some of these places offer for lunch.
I can't help out too much with Franklin area. My favorite "fancy" place to eat there is Puck Express
It can be frustrating finding a non-chain restaurant that is open on a Monday. Our 1st anniversary fell on a Monday and we went to Watermark. The service and food were both fantastic. I mentioned when I made the reservation the occasion and it was noted in special ways throughout the evening- handwritten card, champagne, etc.
Happy b-day fellow Sag. Mine's Sat.
I'll second Mirror, it is really good! Plus it is small and intimate on the inside - perfect for a romantic birthday dinner. It's in the 12 South area across the street from Mafioza's.
