Recommend your vehicle

Needless to say since my car was totaled in the accident I need to get another car. I am seriously looking at the gmc acadia but I also like the toyota avalon. I am looking for a vehicle that has four doors but will be easy on the back (carseats and everything). please give me your thoughts.

Re: Recommend your vehicle

  • I have a 4runner and absolutely love it.  It's not bad on gas and it has plenty of room.  I really like Toyota's they last forever and the upkeep is minimal.

I just traded in my 2004 Acura TL because I HATED IT!!!  The way it handled and drove was awful.  It had a racecar feel to it, LOL.  It had plenty of room for 4 adults, carseat, etc, yet, like I said the way it drives is terrible.

  • BTW, congrats on your graduation. I know your glad to be done.
  • I drive a Honda CRV, and I've really, really enjoyed it.  It gets great gas mileage for a small SUV, and Hondas always hold their value really well.  It's got plenty of room, too.

  • I have a Mazda Tribute and I LOVE it.  It drives extremely well.  It gets good mileage for a SUV.  I have never had any problems with it.  It has tons of room.  The seats fold down and they are really lightweight so they are easy to fold down.

  • I have an Acura TL now and i love it. It's kinda low to the ground, but it has a lot of room in it.
I used to have a 4 runner before gas got too expensive. It acutally doesn't get as bad gas mileage as some of the other SUVs. I loved my 4 runner.
I think the next vehicle I get will be the Acura  MDX. It's one of the small SUVs. I've driven one, and it drives so well.... huggs the road... and it's spacious and comfy.

If you drive a lot, I recommend getting a car/SUV with seat heaters. I drive all the time, and it helps my back to have heat on it.

  • I would rec a Toyota or Honda anyday. I have had both an accord and camry and they were great cars. Now we have a jeep and acura and so far so good, but just havent had them as long as I had the other 2.
  • I would recomend a Ford Escape. I had one a few years ago and I am kicking myself for getting rid of it. I loved that thing but I thought I wanted a new car but I so hate the one I have. I had the Escape for 6 years and it was still running fine!

  • I drive a Honda Accord.  Love it!  Plenty of room in the backseat and a huge trunk.  Great gas mileage.  And Honda's hold their value pretty well.
  • I would LOVE a Honda Pilot!  we have an accord and it's a great car.  We also have an Envoy - it drives really nice but i'm not sure it's my "dream" car.

oh but the heated seats are REALLY nice to have!

Oh yeah I want a Honda Pilot one day.  If I was going to get a SUV it would be that!

  • I love my XL-7. It's my second baby. Lots of cargo space, easy to get A in and out of ( I love not having to bend down anymore), drives quietly, handles well. My only negative is gas mileage...but I was spoiled by my Escort on that.

  • I have a Toyota Rav 4 (2004) and I LOVE it! Gets great gas for an "SUV" and is still small like a car.  I can fit all my poles and nets in and a cage and several boxes when I go on raptors trapped in warehouses.  Or fit a bunch of boxes when I take birds to the vet.  The back seats fold down/up to give more room if needed.

  • I've had a Toyota 4 Runner since 03 when we bought it new. I have not had one minute's trouble with it and I've put a lot of miles on it for it to only be an 03. I'd have to go look, but 128,000 is a good estimate. Toyotas in general are good vehicles and I don't think you could go wrong with a Toyota. I'm sad to say it but American made cars just don't hold a candle in my opinion. If you want easy on the back for carseats...think somehing higher in height than a standard car...a small SUV would be great for kids. I wish I'd had one back then.
  • Hondas are always good, I have a Civic-but Hyundais are really good cars now. My husband has a Sonata and it is really nice. We've been super happy with it.

  • I have a  2008 Nissan Sentra and love it! They are the same size as the old Altimas, so they are spacious inside.  It seats 4 adults easily, and has huge trunk space.

  • I love my 4Runner.  DH had a Tacoma up until this week with 221k miles on it and never had to do anything to it other than regular maintenance.  I would definitely recommend a Toyota.  We just got a new Tahoe last night (DH new company car), and it has tons of room.  I still think I love my 4Runner more though.

  • I'm a Honda girl all the way!  My current car is my second Honda Accord.  It's an '04 with 4-doors and plenty of room in the front, back, and trunk.  Three grown-ups fit comfortably in the back.  I can keep it through us having two kids, but I'd love to get an Acura MDX one day.
  • another honda girl here! ?I am on my 2nd CRV and I love it. ?I had an '06 for a couple of years and recently traded in for an '08. ?It gets great gas mileage and drives really well- ?and, of course, fits Hannah's car seat, her stuff and all my photo gear perfectly! ?:)
  • We have a '09 Honda CRV and I LOVE it. We had a VW Jetta rental car when we first had DS and I hated getting the car seat in and out with that car.  It is sooo much easier with an SUV.  We also have a lab and he fits great in the back trunk also.

Let me also say - get leather seats if you are planning on using it as a family car.  We got them and they are so easy to clean up spills with it.
