How do you buy a keg in TN?
Do I get it at the grocery store? I've never seen beer at the liquor store.
Re: How do you buy a keg in TN?
I totally agree. We used to be able to buy it all at the grocery store. It's annoying to have to make an extra stop for things like wine, esp b/c we used it mostly for cooking! I don't understand this law at all. We still had plenty of liquor stores so it's not like they'd go out of business. And then, not being able to buy anything BUT liquor at the liquor store is a huge pain if you are making mixed drinks or something. Such a waste of time.
I just want to go on the record as not being able to buy wine and beer in the same location is the stupidest law ever.
Fair 'nuff although I gotta admit I'm not as bothered about it anymore. One extra stop never killed anyone. I kinda like the idea that smaller boutique wines, companies and knowledgible staff are more competitive when there's no WallyWorld YellowTail that's only $1 cheaper.
Several liquor stores have a shop right next door that sells beers as well (same wall, separate door and register). I listed a few that do, you can call up others.
Midtown Liquors
Frugal McDoogals
I think J. Barleycorn has a beer stop.
Amen to that! SO annoying.
This is what I miss the most - not necessarily the wine in grocery stores, but being able to buy everything at the liquor store. It cracks me up that you can't even buy mixers at the liquor store here. Weird! They sure make it difficult to throw a party around here!
In California it was amazing - you could buy hard liquor in the grocery stores too. Talk about one-stop shopping!
