I expressed mine yesterday, but I honestly don't know how popular/UO it is:

3D ultrasounds are creepy. DH mentioned there was no way he wanted to see a 3D u/s of our baby, and I immediately agreed.

Not knocking anyone who gets them or thinks they're cool, but I don't see the appeal!

I don't think they're creepy but DH does. I think one of the biggest problems is that lots of people get them too early. I wouldn't expect my 16 week fetus to look perfectly developed. They're still just not cute that early.

@luckyangel07 no, I get you. I mean, if it were part of the whole process, okay but I wouldn't do it on my own. Although....I've thought about getting one.

My UO is dictating gift giving. If people ask me what to get either myself or my daughter I'll tell them. I don't get this new fad of putting on invitations "no gifts" or "only bring this". It doesn't work. my SIL only requested art books for her daughter and from I could tell no one followed her "rules". Everything has become so PC it's ridiculous. Have a party, bring a gift, call it a damn day.

@vitan, Ugh I hate that! DH has a cousin who got married earlier this year and on the invitation it said "Gifts in Envelopes Only". I was shocked! My jaw dropped lol. If I was going to take a gift we wouldn't have spent more than $50 but we felt really guilty only putting $50 in an envelope so we had to give them $100.

I just don't get it, you should be grateful for whatever everyone gives you!

@vitan I hosted a baby shower for a friend a few months ago, and she was adamant of not doing a registry and only asking for diapers and wipes. Needless to say she only received a few packages of diapers and then a bunch of random stuff she said she didn't need. She still complains about it.

I thought 3d u/s were creepy. And then I got a free one with a study I was participating in. And the picture was perfect. But you do have to get it from the right angle or it looks creepy.

I really can't stand Facebook anymore. I've had it since I was like 18 and I really miss it only being .edu email addresses.

I only stay on it for groups and to keep in touch with a few select individuals.


I'm dreading potty training. I spend half my work day doing pottying and potty training. I want DH to do it.

I'm really offended that some of my family isn't coming to my shower. The same people missed my bridal shower. It makes me not want to socialize with them.

That would bother me too.  I had some family that decided to not come to my wedding and I may have stopped talking to them for a while.

@Bridget That is so tacky! I can understand the "no gifts" on invites, but that is ridiculous.

Upon seeing this, my immediate reaction would've been to give them a piece of card stock (so it feels like a card) with the word "Gifts" on it in an envelope.

Dictating what people are generously giving for your wedding? That is so rude and tacky.
