Finally, I have overcome my 8 1/2-year long reader's block and finished a book!!!!! The book is Stormie Omartian's "The Power of a Praying Wife". It was so good! The prayers in it have produced noticeable changes in me and my DH and the way we communicate. I'm so proud of myself and am already thinking of what to read next! Maybe the "Five Love Languages", which has been on my night stand for over 2 years... Or maybe a James Patterson book... Anyone read any of his books?
Re: AW: I DID IT!!!!!
I love James Patterson. The women's murder club series are pretty good. the first is called First to Die.
Ohhh... I love. love. love. Stormie Omartian! Good job!
5 love languages is always good
Now you're speaking my language by Gary Chapman (the same guy that wrote 5 love languages) is EXCELLENT.
The 10 Commandments of Marriage (I can't think of the author's name)
The Case for Faith by Lee Stroebel is EXCELLENT
Anything by Beth Moore- everything she writes is gold to me. Priscila Shirer is excellent too but I don't know if she exclusively writes small group studies or not.
for fiction... Twilight was a fun series nice and fluffy.
Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follet is next up on my to-be-read, and I've heard excellent things about it.
Snow Flower and the Secret Fan or Peony in Love by Lisa See are on my short list of best books I've ever read.
GL!!!
that is awesome!! ?I really need to get some books now that I actually have TIME to read! ?I haven't been able to for so long with working 2 full time jobs and I'd love to be able to just sit down and read a book.
thanks for all the recommendations!
