Hi everyone... My name is Jamie, and my family and I just moved here from the suburbs of Phoenix, Arizona.
Just wanted to say hello and see if anyone was from Auburn, or had any good recommendations on things to do around Auburn...

My husband and I moved here in July when he got a coaching job at the university so I haven't been here that long either. It is a great place, you'll love it!

what kind of stuff are you into? There's Chewacla State Park, bowling, movies, Kiesel Park is great if you have dogs, Columbus and Montgomery are about 45 mins away, Atlanta and Birmingham are only about 2 hours away (and there is TONS to do in ATL..Coca Cola Factory, Georgia Aquarium, Stone Mountain, Six Flags....)

It's a WONDERFUL place to live, and there's plenty to do. If you're interested in swing dance, there are free lessons most Friday nights. Here's the link.

Thanks everyone... and thanks for the comments about my blog. I was a wedding and portrait photographer in Arizona and am now starting over here in Auburn. It's been rough start re-building a business, but I'm driven to keep going, even if it takes a few years! So if you know anyone in need of services send them my way!
Next stop DMV, or BMV... whatever they call that here! Hoping I don't have to take a drivers test this week!
I didn't have time to reply with the things to do around here since I was at work but I spend a lot of time at AU athletic events (my husband is a coach here). So if you ever want to go to a baseball, softball, football or basketball game, I'm probably there!
We also like to go out to eat and try out the different restaurants. And I love shopping in all of the little shows down near campus!

I went to undergrad, moved to ATL for 8 yrs, came back and got married here and hope not to ever leave. My DH too works in AU athletics.

BTW - I was checking out your blog - love your work - my sis is a photographer too and I think you both have very similar styles! Love it!
