bridal show prizes

just wondering? What kind of stuff do they give away at the bridal shows?

I saw where many went for the stuff,&  I have never been to a bridal show.

Re: bridal show prizes

  • The ones I was associated with in Dothan gave all sorts of prizes, even honeymoons.
  • The ones I went to in Huntsville and Florence gave away service(florist, photographer, dj, venue up to a certain amount), honeymoons, they gave away garters, toasting glasses, dresses, limos, all kinds of stuff. We won 3 nights is Gatlinburg, but already had our honeymoon booked so I gave it to my parents since they spent so much on our wedding. Plus you had to use it by a certain date.

  • The one I went to in Auburn with Crystal and Katie had a ton of door prizes.  Photography packages, catering packages, etc...  When they brought out the Merle Norman basket, I turned to Katie and said "I thought only old women use Merle Norman."  She laughed and said "you're so going to win it".  And I did.  Crystal won a catering package.

    Crystal-- have you used it?

It was SO freaking funny, the timing and all.  And no disrespect to MN, but it was funny!!!!  I won some gift cert to the sleep matress or something but we don't have room and it was for like $50 and those things are thousands and you had to go to Montgomery and use it w/in a month.  I was getting married w/in the month!!!

  • i thought that too until i started using mn myself....

i never went to bridal shows....but i knew exactly what vendors i wanted and what not well before the option to attend a show came up....i thought them to be a waste of time for me personally...

MN is the oldest cosmetic's company in the US and was started by Merle in her kitchen, of all places over 70 years ago. She was the original female entrepreneur. Her story is quite interesting. There are indeed a LOT of older women who use it if only because the products have been here for so long...and they tend to use the older products which I'd love to throw out...even so, their skin, for the most part, is fantastic. MN it has a strong following with the younger even teenaged girls too and has an excellent line of anti acne products. Clinique has the same reputation only in reverse...people think it's only for young girls but they have a fantastic line of anti aging products too.

Just a bunch of useless info for anyone who might care. LOL

  • I and all of my friends min-20's love MN!!! I have even thought of opening my own store one day.

haha..that was quite funny. nope, i haven't used it. i think i have it filed somewhere and i was actually going to give it to your friend Heather but couldn't find it. It was only a $100 dollars off so not that big a deal with that place's prices

  • I know this isn't what this post is technically about, but I had to jump in and say I love MN makeup!

When I did company dance at Ann's our eye makeup and lipstick were MN.  Smokey blue and bright red!  Guess I could never shake that...

I'm an Estee Lauder girl myself.  Not exactly young and fresh but when I was looking for foundation in highschool, they had a great shade for ghostly pale.

  • i too have always struggled in finding the perfect shade of white foundation... lol

i guess that would be pretty hard to shake....sounds real....interesting. LOL

i think i have found products from almost all lines that i can appreciate...i just enjoy makeup in general...
