  • That is very strange to me.  I'm also amazed that this continues to go on in the world.  Did you read the comment by the man, I laughed so hard..he was like I'll volunteer to go over there and help out, LOL.

  • Isn't it also in some places in Japan that has 2-hr lunch breaks to allow naps since they work such long days? 

  • I find this absolutely ridiculous.  There are wayyyyy to many people in the world in the first place. But maybe thats just the ecologist in me.

  • I think Russia did the same thing. They offer families something like $9,000 for having a baby as well as a graduating scale of monthly cash allowances for infants and subsidies for day care.

    I think I saw on the news that one town had a contest and the couple who had the first baby of the year won a car, cash and some other stuff. They must be desperate.

    Wow, that's really crazy.  Especially given the "social rigidity toward women and parenting", one would think the women would riot, protest, or something.
