We saw it tonight, I thought it was great and wonder why it got no nominations for best movie/actor. Has anyone else seen it? What did you think?
Re: Grand Torino
I watched it last weekend, I thought it was so good. I love Clint Eastwood. I was hoping it wouldn't end the way it did, God, I boo hooed, lol.
*spoiler below*
The part that got me was when the police said that he didn't even have a weapon on him, so he went knowing what would happen... *sob* lol.
Oh I loved it! I am a big fan of Clint Eastwood in general... he has made some great movies and is so talented. Can you believe he is 78?
Anyway, I'm not sure why it wasn't nominated... I would have thought that Clint would have gotten a best director or actor nom as well as the actors that played Thao and Sue for supporting actor... at least at the Golden Globes if not the Oscars.
I think that he did a superb job of translating that story into a movie. It could have been cheesy or overly violent, but I think it was just right.

We LOVED Gran Torino. I was surprised it didn't get any nominations.
Clint Eastwood is a bad @ss.
The original Bad A$$ even at 78... I would not want him mad at me.
I think Clint really got screwed over with this one...it was a great movie and to get no nominations...something is strange. The actor who played Tao and the actress who played Sue were great too.
