RP: The nursery is DONE!

I can't help but keep going in there and just starring. It feels so surreal that Kennedy will be in that room in just a couple more months!

There are a few little things left to do. But, I'll get to that later!

Anyways, I posted the pics on Rate My Space. I'd love your input!

  • It's gorgeous, Lydia!  5 stars!!!
  • It looks so good! I love the name on canvas you did! I've been meaning to ask but did you buy a roll of canvas and put rods through it or how did you do it! I may have to steal your idea one day!

  • Thanks girls!

For the banner.. I bought a yard of canvas material from the fabric store, cut it down to about a 2 X 3 foot size. I then folded the top and bottom edges over and sewed a seam so there would be a top and bottom "loop" for the dowel rods to go through.

I then just primed and painted the canvas, using an overhead projector to pencil in the design. (really, it can be done with any material. I almost used taffeta instead but went with canvas because of its weight.)

I then got four crystal knobs from hobby lobby and screwed them in to the end of each dowel rod to weight the banner. (those are the finial things, although they don't show up well in the photo!)

  • I love it!  It is so original - you did such a great job!
  • Wow, Lydia. That is so beautiful! I think my favorite thing is how you accessorized. I would have never thought to use that mirror, or the birdcages, or even the prints that you used. I definitely envy you for that =). I also loved the pastel blue walls with the wainscoting. Gorgeous.
