Re: Doing blog 4 Glamour Mag - pls take poll!!!

  • I'm now kind of old for this poll (sigh - just turned 30), but here goes:
    1. Katie
    2. 30
    3. Barack Obama
    4. His commitment to the environment by targeting an 80% reduction in fuel emissions by 2050 and an investment of $150 B in clean energy;  his commitment to support and strengthen working families and schools; and his goal of affordable health care coverage for every American.
    5. Environment, particularly what candidates are doing to address climate change
  • thank you so much katie - i am 31 so no worries! :-)
  • 1. Your first name Sarah
    2. How old are you? 29
    3. Who are you voting for in the primary? Obama
    4. Why did you choose this person? Be specific. I agree with him on pretty much every issue (but abortion) and I really like the way he presents himself.
    5. What is the most important issue to you in this election? Immigration probably, but I try not to let just one thing sway my vote.  I'd rather go with someone I'm pretty in line with overall instead.

    3. I'm still not sure who I'm going to vote for. I just moved, so I'm not sure I'll be able to vote. I'm still registered 4000 miles away.
4.& 5. I'm still trying to figure out what's the most important issue to me, because no one candidate has everything I want.

Sorry to not know yet - that's why I hesitated to reply!

    2. 28

    3. Hmmm...probably McCain

    4. I really could write a book on this....but I can't stand Hilary or Obama anymore...I don't trust them at all....and McCain has a lot of international relations experience
    5. healthcare reform, welfare reform, pulling out of Iraq

  • 1. Gayle
    2. 38
    3. Probably Romney, though I'm not entirely happy about it.  I was a big Fred Thompson fan, and Romney is the most conservative one left.  McCain and Huckabee are too liberal on most things, and Ron Paul is wacko on foreign policy.
    4. See answer to #3.
    5.  It's hard for me to pinpoint just one issue.  To me is about not turning the country over the liberals, whether they have a D or an R after their name.  Cutting wasteful spending, lower taxes, less government regulation/interference, reforming entitlement programs, strong national defense, originalist judges.

    2. How old are you? 31
    3. Who are you voting for in the primary?  I don't know :(.  I was planning to vote for Richardson, but that kinda fell through.  I guess it's just going to be a cost benefit analysis between Clinton and Obama.  I just don't vote Republican.
    5. What is the most important issue to you in this election? Fiscal responsibility within the government (from deficits to earmarks,) Iraq, international relations, global warming.

Have you thought about posting this on a national board?  Or have you done that already?

    3. Who are you voting for in the primary?  I voted early for clinton

    3. Who are you voting for in the primary? Hillary Clinton-  I voted early and was incredibly proud to see her name on the ballot.  Regardless of who gets the nomination in the Democratic Party, our country has come a long way.  I honestly never thought I would have the opportunity to vote for a woman for President.
    4. Why did you choose this person? She has more experience and I believe she will be a stronger leader.  She has gained the respect of many Republicans in the Senate because of what she has been able to achieve to date as a US Senator.  I believe that given the chance that she will earn great respect among the American people just like her husband was able to do during his early years as President. I honestly do not believe that she is as divisive as some people think.  I look forward to the day that the United States and our leaders are respected by the rest of the world.  It is my hope that she can lead us to that point once again.
    5. What is the most important issue to you in this election? Abortion rights and the war.
  • 1. Anne
    2. 27
    3. John McCain
    4. I think the country needs someone who can work with everybody right now and he does a lot with both parties. He's middle of the road and electable, but honestly, for me it's a lesser of the 4 evils. I used to work in DC, and I can say that Hillary is one of the nastiest, most classless people I've ever met and when I vote for a woman for president, it will be one who is a lady and didn't ride her husband's womanizing coattails to the office. I want one who did it all on her own that I can be proud of. If she goes down in history as the first woman president, I'll be pretty freaking disgusted with my sex.
    5. Economy and the war

    3. Who are you voting for in the primary?  Voted early for John McCain
    4. Why did you choose this person? Be specific.  I like his opinion on the war in Iraq, feel with his previous military experience he will better benefit this country at this time.
    5. What is the most important issue to you in this election? Economy and War
