Yale students "art project"

has anyone discussed this?  I don't want to post too much info on it as it may be disturbing especially to those who have experienced misscarriage.

However, I would love to know that other girls are as upset by this "art project" and if anyone else thinks that legal action should be taken against this girl.

Normally I am of the thought that a woman has a right to choose what she does with her body, but this just proves we need to set some limits even there.

Re: Yale students "art project"

  • Sandy,

I am appaled at this. All of it makes me sick but i almost vomited when I found out there is a video showing her having her miscarriages, as if it is something that people should view as art. Maybe because I just had a miscarriage I am more sensitive to it, but this whole exhibit truly enrages me. The levity in which the babie's lives are treated nauseates me. Yale should be ashamed that they are attaching their name to such an atrocity.

  • The nest just ate my reply. I think the girl is a little off to think this is an art project. How could anyone ever want to do that to her body?? It is just crazy.

  • I actually just read about it.  I'm speechless.  I mean really?  How effed up do you have to be?  She needs a lot of mental help.  There's "anti-establishment" and then there's just plain loco.
  • As I said on another board, I'm all about free expression, but this crosses the line. I don't see anything good or positive coming out of this. I don't think it is even thought-provoking. I think it will only disgust people.

As far as criminal charges, I'd say no. She wouldn't face criminal charges if she got 10 abortions over the course of her life. As far as the law goes, I don't see this as any different (speaking in terms of morals, a whole different story...)

  • I just saw this & could not even finish reading the article. I am so disgusted.

I am sorry but how does one justify this as art?

  • I'd flip out if I had a daughter who decided to use her time (and my money) at Yale to do that.....

  • This is the saddest, most appaling thing I have read.  What one earth was this women thinking?!?!
  • Oh my goodness. I just read this. I don't care what side you take on this issue, what this girl did is disturbing and I highly doubt any choice advocates think this is a healthy thing to do. That is one messed up girl.
  • OMG this is horrible. I can't even begin to comprehend why someone would want to do this. ?This is a case where I look to the universe and ask why someone like this could get pregnant and I can't (well at least not full term), kwim? ?I don't know, I think it's totally messed up. ?We live in such a screwed up society.
