Need Advice

Hi ladies!  I haven't posted over here in a while.  I have been on the babies board lately, but I had a question I wanted to ask advice on.

I am on the hunt for a job (I'm an elementary teacher).  Well, I submitted apps with 2 school districts in the Mobile area, and got an email from a principal on Monday.  She asked me additional questions, I answered, she emailed me back (on Tuesday) asking for me to come in and meet with her.  She gave me a bunch of suggested times, all being next week.  I emailed her back immediately on Tuesday with a suggestion of Monday morning.  I'm an eager beaver Big Smile

Well, I never heard anything back.  Yesterday, I sent her another email along the lines of "I'm not sure if you got my first email...wanted to make sure something didn't send on my end...is Monday at blah blah a good time for you."  This was yesterday morning, and I still haven't heard back from her.

Am I just being paranoid that she isn't interested anymore/isn't going to respond?  WWYD if I don't hear back from her?  Let it go?  Send any other correspondance?  I didn't want to call the school since she emailed initially rather than call.  I didn't know if this was her preferred method of communication.

TIA!

Re: Need Advice

  • Normally I would give her a couple days, and then call. If you are talking about this Monday, I would call the school though. Technology can fail at bad times, you never know.

  • Like pp said I would normally give it a few days. If it's this Monday I hope you were able to get in touch with her. Good Luck on your interview!

  • I was emailing her for this upcoming Monday. Thanks for the advice.  I really didn't know/don't know what to do.  I don't want to seem too pushy.  The email from her was, "Here are good times to come...let me know what works for you."  My response was, "How about Monday, May 4, at 9:30 am...would this work for you?"  So, I technically never got a confirmation that this was a good time for her.  The interview is in a neighboring city DH and I are moving too.  It is like an hour drive one way, so I'd hate to just 1)show up possibly unannounced, and 2)make the drive and her not be able to see me.  With it being now the weekend, I wouldn't be able to call and get anyone until Monday am.

  • That's a tough call. I would either call about 7:30 that morning or just go on in for the interview. Either way it kinda sucks. I hate that she didn't email you back.

  • I would call on monday before making the trip. the reason being that if she had several dates and times available then she is obviously able to reschedule the appointment. When you call be sure to explain that you didn't make the trip because you didn't have confirmation and it was so far away. I'm sure she will be willing to reschedule.
