Anyone know about home financing?

DH and I have a house that we can't seem to get off our hands.  We have renters in it now who have been in almost a year, and are wanting to continue renting.  They lead us on to think they were going to buy, but low and behold, they decide to continue renting.  We are going to renew with them, and have it for sell.

My question is this:  We are wanting to purchase a new home, but aren't sure if we can get financed/will get financed for what we want with this mortgage still on our credit.  Does anyone know how this works?  We would have the proof of income to show that they pay enough to cover the mortgage.  TIA!

Re: Anyone know about home financing?

  • With the house you are renting to others, when you signed closeing does the morgatage company know that it is rented and not owned. The reason I ask is because when we signed our papers they made sure we would use it for us and NO OTHER purpose. (like renting) If they know about it our mortgage company can take our house. I don't know about your situation.

I would just ask a loan officer about the situation. They deal with this on a everyday basis. So they are going to know how to handle it. Then they sould get you your loan. Good Luck sorry I know I'm not much help!

  • I agree w/Erin on this.

Now the other option I know of is if you  have a lot of equity in your current home you own you could do a 2nd mortgage, hopefully at a low rate.

Just ask a broker further about the situation.

GL and this is why we have 2 mortgages - can't sell the condo in ATL, can't even rent it!!!!
