The "views" thing...
that totally bugs me. You can see how many people looked at the post, but never replied. I guess I do not understand the point of lurking. Why open a post if you are not going to contribute? Ok vent over. You may not return to your regularly scheduled nesting.
Re: The "views" thing...
Sometimes I just don't have anything to add but want to see what's in the post. Like the anniversary dinner one, I read it but didn't respond because I didn't have any good places to recommend. But I wanted to get some ideas of new places to try.
When are we going shoe shopping??
Bugs me too. I come over here a lot but sometimes I don't have anything to add since I don't live in SD anymore...ALso sometimes I get too jealous of all you ladies in the best climate in the world & all the yummy restaurants! MMMM....
BTW, what happened @ SDSU yesterday??!
Shoe shopping? When can I get in on this deal???
FWIW - Sometimes I open a post and if I feel like I don't have anything to add to what has already been said, I don't post. I do think a lot of people just lurk though (I don't really have any problems with lurkers though).
Sometimes you open a post not knowing if you can help until you read the whole thing.
Example: "Anyone know a good anniversary restaurant?" Open the post and see that they want seafood. You don't know any good seafood places, so you don't post.
Other times you're looking for the same answer and want to see what others have to say. "Good movies to watch tonight?" Oh, I want to see what people suggest. I'll open that post. And I won't only open it once, I'll keep opening it over the day, week to see what each new person who posts thinks.
Yeah, I guess so...I never thought about that...
I guess my vent was more like...what are you doing this weekend...or what is your favorite food? Doesn't everyone have a favorite food? I guess I am just very type-A and OCD like that. Nevermind me. I am nuts! LOL.
