PIP Poll: Your wedding dress!

My upcoming anniversary has me thinking about the day I said "I do" I enjoyed that day so much...I wish I could put on my dress and do the reception part one more time (not the church part hehehe)!

So please post a pic of your wedding dress, so we all can reminisce. Feel free to describe your dress.

:::Off to find my pic, lots of cobwebs to go thru::: Tongue Tied

Re: PIP Poll: Your wedding dress!

  • Fun! Even though I hated my wedding dress...  The dress shop ordered my dress 3 sizes to big. I went through 10 alteration sessions just to get it to stay on (it literally fell completely down when I put it on).  Needless to say, it kept falling down the whole night and I crushed all of the little beads on the bottom of the dress L.  It really sucked.

    The dress was James Clifford.

  • Yayayayayay, i love talking about my wedding!! Big Smile And happy anniversary Lawby!! Drinks How many years is it?

I can't find the pics of me trying the dress on, so here's an action shot at our reception.

    image

It's from Casablanca, style 1852 in ivory. There's beading on the front of the bodice and on the back and it goes down to a point. There's matching beading on the back skirt and when it was fastened up, it matched with the beading on the back bodice!! The skirt was so heavy that i had to have 2 side snaps put in for when it was bustled. And it still kept coming undone! I finally resorted to wearing the loop on my wrist like in the picture after DH accidentally stepped on my skirt and it busted the main/stronger snap. Sad I accessorized with navy blue jewelry, shoes and brooch for my birdcage veil, which i loved!! Here's a semi-decent view of the back and my veil.

  • This is the only good pic I could find at work...it doesnt show much of the detail. Anyhoo, my dress was from DaVinci ordered through RKBridal. I picked it out and ordered it online (while in Dominica) without ever trying it, until I came up to NYC 1 month before the wedding and it fit just right (except for the lack of boobs part LOL) I loved my dress even though its princessy/poufy but it was exactly what I wanted.

    wow 4 years! that's great!

I don't think my eyes even watered until we were doing our vows, and even that was it for me. I was laughing a lot though, littlecyndilou was bawling on the altar (it was hysterical, really)

  • My dress was by Stephen Yearick. It was at my bridal shop because they were having a Stephen Yearick trunk show that weekend, and he had samples of the next year's dresses that were not technically out yet.  The one I tried on still had seamstress markings on it!  I didn't even want to try it on because it had the cap-sleave-thingies, and I wanted strapless, but my saleslady insisted - and she was right, it was perfect!

The only problem is that it was damn heavy and the shoulder things prevented me from being able to lift my arms very high.  But I didn't care! Oh, and the mantilla was soooo heavy, I could barely move my head.  That did bother me - I ditched that as soon as we were done with the ceremony.

  • ohh! this is super fun! Everyone looks just beautiful!

Here's my dress. I went to Bridal Reflections and I think the designer was Yolanda Couture. I love love loved the dress - but they didn't alter it short enough so my heels kept catching on the hem and I had all these holes and grass stains before the ceremony. oh well.

  • Oh, fun!  You all look so beautiful.  I haven't looked at wedding pics (mine or someone else's) in forever!

My dress was Amy Kuschel.  We got married on the beach in the Bahamas; it was super simple and lightweight!  I loved my dress!

Goofy pic but you can see the whole thing...

Ok, I don't remember how to post a pic in the post, so just look in my bio and you will find it there. I don't think I have a full shot of it, but I bought it in David's Bridal...David's Bridal I guess. LMAO

ooh, they still carry it...here it is on a model.

  • I'm pretty new here, just married in July :)  So, I'm still totally in love with my dress...and actually had it out on the bed the other day giving it some more adoration before I try and sell it.  It's a Marisa 815, ordered online from Victoria's Bridal (Like RK, only in Florida).image

  • Lovely gowns, all.
I was lucky enough to get a call from my talented cousin shortly after we were engaged: "I can't imagine that you will be able to find your dress in a shop." So I drew some pictures, we shopped for fabrics and together came up with a unique dress that was me, yet elegant, and unbelievably comfortable. Perfect.

  • Lawby, happy wedding anniversary to you and DH! Hope you guys do something special--you deserve it with all that "sweat equity"  you guys have been putting in! Big Smile

Everyone looks beautiful, and it's really neat to see and hear about everyone's unique style and story with their dress!

Although you can't see the crystal beading on my dress, it was an absolute dream! And by dream, I don't mean merely how it was my fantasy dress, etc.--it was a dream because I purchased the David's Bridal designed gown off the rack in a lovely, small bridal boutique and it was never worn--the store had just received it--and it fit me like an absolute glove! I mean, I didn't need a single alteration--not a hem, not a stitch taken in! Factor that into the reality that I purchased my gown a whopping 2 years before my wedding (DH and I were engaged while I finished college), and I disciplined myself to make sure that sucker fit! And thank God it did!

It was comfortable, with a 3-foot cathedral train and white satin buttons down the back. It's current resting place is with my mom in my childhood home back in Illinois, preserved in a box. I think the best compliment was the fact that my mom told me the bridal store when taking it to clean and preserve said my gown was the cleanest they had saw in a while after a long wedding day in the grass and 110 degree June heat! I just felt really lucky :)

  • Ugh! My pic didn't load correctly. I wonder if I'm having trouble since my pic is in PDF form? Any know if loading it through my siggy is best? Although I tried that.
  • Everyone looks so gorgeous!!

Thanks for the anniversary greetings...Ms.Wifey, do you have your pic saved on a website such as snapfish or shutterfly - i find it easier to copy paste from those, directly onto the nest ---I wanna see your dress!!! Oh and yeah, DH and I are going on our first romantic date since the house!! Woo-hoo!
