Re: please share your EASY french toast recipes that can be made the night before
french toast is pretty easy...but I'd make it ON christmas morning (it doesn't take long)..
1 egg 3/4 cup milk 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 pinch saltThis would make about 2 slices (I'm not sure how much you need...so I figure the least amount to say the better and you can add more as needed)
mix the ingredients together. Take a slice of bread and dip it into the mixture to cover both sides.
Place in a buttered pan on medium heat...about 2 minutes per side or until they're done to your liking (you'll know after the first one)...
I've made this a few times:

I think it's delicious. I recommend serving it with maple whipped cream (but regular whipped cream will do too).
If you want a more bread pudding consistency then make the night before, but if you want it more of a regular french toast consistency, then make mix the ingredients about an hour or two before you are ready to serve.
Either way is tasty though.
Hope this helps!
LOL, I am always surprised by complicated french toast recipes. Here's mine.
Mix in low, flat bowl (for dipping) several eggs, a little milk (1/4 C?) and throw in a tablespoon vanilla. Mix by hand.
Dip in any bread you chose (white, potato, cinamaon swirl, etc.) so both sides are covered.
Place on electric skillet (350 degrees) or non stick pan on medium heat. Cook until brown and turn.
I've made this before. Easy and so delish. It sits overnight.

This is easy and a hit every time I've made it, with tweaks: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/paula-deen/baked-french-toast-casserole-with-maple-syrup-recipe2/index.html
My tweaks: I use milk instead of half and half and use less of it than Paula uses. I also use half the butter.
This is always a hit wit my family, too. I still use the 1/2 & 1/2 and all the butter, but no syrup or whipped cream on top. The praline topping is sweet enough IMO.
The praline topping is THE BEST! So good. I agree, no need for syrup of any kind.
