Overall it was fun! When I got in Thurs it was raining/pouring all day and all night. I ended up driving the vast majority of the day to get oriented and since DH wasn't in that day I just hunkered down in my room to take a breath that evening.
Fri. was a bit of a clusterf. DH was supposed to be flying into NOLA that morning, but his flight was delayed a few hours for plane de-icing. Missed his connection, got onto another connection on stand-by. He was lucky. Later flights ended up getting completely cancelled. He ended up missing most of his conference for that day. So I was on-call wife for most of the day, very little touristy stuff. We consoled ourselves by eating at Emeril's Delmonico (just caddycorner from the hotel). Excellent stuff.
Next day was better. Did some of Magazine St. while DH was at conference, did FQ with DH, got drunk on mixed drinks, ate a lot of good food, had beignets @ Cafe du Monde where some drunk frat boy stood on a table chanting "Who Dat!". Watched parades and collected a sheet-ton of beads (quel tourist of us!).
Got out Sun AM. Didn't manage the GTG
Sorry, it started bad, but glad you got a taste of the city.:)
Sorry, we couldn't gtg .. this weekend was mad crazy for me. Thursday would have been the best day for me, but the crazy rain changed all that.
Glad you & the hubby had a great time though!
