Deer resistant containers plantings?

Hi all, I usually post on TTC but now that spring is here I might start hanging out here a bit - I love gardening but I got married last summer so things were a bit neglected.

We are getting new window boxes this year, and we have tons of deer so I want to do a nice arrangement that they won't want to eat.  I have some yellow irises that I will transfer to the new boxes, but what else will be good to go with them?  I am open to some annuals but perennials are of course great.  Lots of color!  TIA.

Re: Deer resistant containers plantings?

  • Milkweed (Asclepias) is one plant deer won't eat.  It comes in both annual and perennial varieties, and it attracts lots of butterflies--especially monarchs.
