Do you think my tulips will survive???
I had a few random tulips growing around our house in wierd spots, and I wanted to replant them near a tree in our backyard - so I ended up digging them up. Well, the problem is that they were in VERY deep! I read that when you replant them you should plant them at the depth that they were before - especially since they had already sprouted (no blooming yet though), so since that was the case I decided to just put them in a large planter that I have. Do you think they will still bloom this summer from being traumatized by the transplanting or that they will even survive at all? =( Maybe I should have just left them alone....
Re: Do you think my tulips will survive???
You have most likely killed the tulips.
Tulips are very finicky (or fragile, depending on how you want to phrase it). Transplanting them during growing season is a shock from which they usually don't recover.
I only move tulips around in October.
