broccoli and lettuce question
I'm starting a garden for the first time this year and I was hoping to grow broccoli and lettuce along with other veggies. Everything I've read so far says that broccoli is a cool weather crop (I'm in zone 7) but places like home depot are selling broccoli plants. If they're selling it does that mean the plant should do fine in my area over the summer?
I'm also wondering the same thing about lettuce. TIA!
Re: broccoli and lettuce question
They'll do ok, but I'd plant them now. The lettuce will bolt more quickly in heat, but if you harvest regularly, you should be fine. Same with the broccoli. If you have some partial (dappled) shade, I might shoot for that.

I think I'd just buy lettuce seeds. I don't know how well it transplants.
