I transplanted quinault plants into a container about a week ago. I had the plant about 2 weeks prior to transplanting and it was flowering fairly well. However, since transplanting, there hasn't been one. I have never grown strawberries before. Is this common or is this a sign that I did something wrong?
Re: strawberries
Many strawberry plants won't flower/produce AT ALL the first year--be happy you had any flowers at all.
First - how big were your transplants? It they are small, you won't get very many or any at all the first year.
Second, if you purchased larger transplants (good sized plants from a nursery or big box store), two weeks won't be enough time for you to get blooms. The plant is adjusting to being transplanted, so don't expect blooms or fruit right away.
Last year, I purchased a good sized plant and put it in a container. I got maybe 5-8 berries off of it. This year, I've already gotten three and it's bursting with blooms.
