what am I doing wrong w/ my azaleas?

mine gets a beautiful bloom and then almost instantly dies and only blooms once a year.  I don't know if this is normal. It's so pretty I want it to last.

My rose bush on the other hand usually still has flowers on it under the snow.

That's normal for azaleas.

ditto.  unless you have an "encore" azalea, they bloom once in the spring for a few weeks & then are done.  it's just how they (and most flowering shrubs, really) roll.

They dont last very long.  If you have different colors though sometimes they bloom at different times and it'll stagger out the blooming period.  My pink ones bloom first and my white ones bloom later for example.

I was having the same problem with mine. It's a shame they won't bloom again. I thought the flowers were so pretty.

I had the worst time w/azaleas in my yard. For 5 straight years they didn't flower no matter what I did. I ended up tearing them out and planting something else (which is growing wonderfully!)
