Anyone ever use Coyote Urine

So I am starting my very first garden this weekend.  We don't have a fenced in yard and have alot of deer, rabbits and squirrels that are in our yard.  I am worried that they will eat my garden.  I talked to my neighbor that had a garden before we moved in and he said that even with a wire fence around the garden the squirrels still get at the tomatoes especially.

I was thinking about trying coyote urine around the outside of the garden to keep the animals away.  Has anyone ever tried it - did it work?

TIA

ps...is it to late in the season to plant romanie lettuce?

Re: Anyone ever use Coyote Urine

  • I've used fox urine and it worked.

The squirrels get your tomatoes because they want the water (You'll notice that they only eat a small hole in the tomato).  I put out food and water in a spot away from the vegetables and have no problems with squirrels stealing tomatoes.

    The bunnies are another issue.
