Ants in Hummingbird feeder
As in a march to the sugar. Across the screen, up to arm, across arm to feeder, down glass side (like why don't they slide off), into feeder holes. Some die, some come back out and march on.
What, how, can you tell me a remedy?
Right now I have vaseline on the arm (didn't deter the march), added ben gay and the march came to a halt.
I really don't want to spray for fear of residue on the feeder, arm, etc.

Re: Ants in Hummingbird feeder
So the ants were stopped by the Ben Gay; what was the other problem?
You can buy a water trap to hang your feeder from--the ants can't get past the water to get in the feeder. Go to the bird section of your local hardware store; that's where I got mine.
I had tried the Ben Gay and it did nothing to deter my ants!
It looks awful with the gunk on the arm, but thanks for inquiring. I basically was pulling at straws and had BG on hand.
