my first wedding after my own...

and I'm a bridesmaid... how much should I spend on a gift for her tea on saturday?

Re: my first wedding after my own...

  • LOL....i was going to say "how much to you like her?" but....you are a BM so... LOL

i mean, spend what you are comfortable spending and get her something nice from her registry.... i usually keep it under 50 for tea gifts and stuff...

  • =O she is j of the really confusing drama I posted about a few weeks ago fame.
  • oh.... LOL

hmm...well, i would probably still stick to under 50 for sure! just go get a few of her towels or something and call it a day!

  • Are you going to get her two gifts?  If so, I'd get something relatively small for the tea.

  • I would say it depends on whether her shower gift will be the only wedding gift or if you plan on giving her multiple showers. It also depends on whether you are hosting any of her showers.

If it's the only gift, I would normally spend around $75 or $100. If it is just a shower gift and you plan on getting her another wedding gift later, I usually stick to around $30 - $40.

  • I love the est. signs.  Look at Jessica's bio to see what I gave her.  Just a thought but I just gave another friend one and they LOVED it.  They are inexpensive too - from $20-50 so you could do that and then monogrammed towels or something like that.

I'm co-hosting her lingere shower and I'll be getting her a gift for that as well... I love your new little siggy pic ;)

  • I told my BM's not to get me a gift b/c they were spending enough money on dresses, accessories, travel, and such.  The girls that did get me gifts anyway got something from my registry small and moderately priced.  Since you're also giving her a shower, I would say a small gift of $25.  It all gets so expensive really quickly, and anything you do or give will be much appreciated.
  • I agree with leelee I told my girls not to do anything for me but some did and it was a small gift from my registry or something just for me from my best friend. I wouldn't spend too much if you are hosting a shower for her they can get pretty expensive.

  • Stick with what you can afford.  Most of my bridesmaids did not get me anything past the lingerie shower.  You're already going through the trouble of buying a dress, altering that dress, finding shoes, getting your nails done, etc.  Don't break the bank!

  • I would get her something small!  Like....max of $30 small!  That way you did bring something to the shower.  So that way she could not have a reason to start any drama about that :P
