Poll: Do you have a REAL BFF???
A post on my old local board got me thinking. How many of us as adults have real BFF's. I mean I know we all have close friends or whatever, but is there one person (or 2 or 3) who you can go to for anything, no matter what?? And if you have a BFF, how long have you been BFF's with them??[Poll]

Me and my BFF have been friends for 10 years....I could count on her for ANYTHING- serisouly, she'd be there no questions asked. And vise versa!

Besides my FI and my mom... both of whom I can talk to about anything at any point, I have about 4 others that I would consider my very best of friends.
I dated 2 of them, so it's different than most people's situations probably, but ended up much better friends with them both after our relationships.
I've known 3 of them for around 12 years, and the one female friend that I have for around 6 now I think. I wish any of them lived around here, but I still talk to all of them more than anyone else.
I said other, I used to have one but once I got married she no longer talked to me at all, never calls, never invites to me anyhting like she used to, nothing.
So nope, I dont have a BFF. I have friends I know I can count on but no one super close.

I definitely do.
One of them I've known since we were three years old!
i voted other. i consider alex and my 15 yr old sis my bffs. lame i know haha. but i do have a friend that i know is always there and she knows i am always here for her. we've known each other since we were pre-teens lol. we dont see other often but when we do its like we've never been absent from each others lives.
I have 3. One I have known since 6th grade and have been BFF with her since 9th grade (so for 13 years=). One I met the summer before college. The other I met my freshmen year of college, but we didn't get super close until I moved down here 5 years ago.
They know me better than anyone (I'm not super close with my fam), and we can talk about ANYTHING! I love them so much!
I have one, kind of two.
My friend, R is definitely 100% my bff. She's there for me no matter what, we're super close & there's really nothing off limits between us. We've been friends for about 8 years now.
My friend, H and I are pretty close. We've been friends since the 2nd grade... so 25+ years. We've been through so much together, and we know each other very well. I think if we were to meet today, without our history we probably wouldn't be super close. But, she's been there for me more times than I can ever count, and will always be there. We have one of those friendships where no matter how much you change, how much time goes by, you can always count on them.
I have several of them actually. And one of them happens to post on this board! (:::waves to Jenn:::)
Bridge - probably my very best and closest friend in the world. We have been friends since high school. We were both in theatre together and were friends, but my senior year (her junior year) is when we became "best friends". That was 1996 (I graduated in '97). So, we have been best friends for 14 years now. I would feel comfortable going to her for absolutely anything. In fact, when I walked into my parents' house this past Memorial Day weekend unexpectedly (at 2:30 am - I needed a place to crash - long story), and heard my stepdad in bed with another woman while my mom was out of town, she was my second phone call (after I called my husband, hysterical), and showed up at her house at about 3:30 am, and we stayed up talking til 4:30. I cannot even begin to explain all that we have been through together over the past 14 years (and all the really fun things we've done together), but yes, absolutely, she is someone that I can count on for anything.
Shelley - Another friend from high school theatre. And she is also best friends with Bridge (we are the 3 muskateers). We lost touch for awhile after high school, but reconnected around 2002 (and also in 1999 when we worked at Club Disney together). She is an amazing friend, and I love her dearly. And we also were pregnant together - which was awesome. Her daughter is two weeks older than my daughter, but she was actually due 3 days after me.
Jenn - My cousin, and fellow nestie, and also my daughter's godmother. I mean, we've been close our whole lives (going all the way back to summers spent in her pool, slumber parties, Disneyland trips, and playing Barbies - where we turned her entire bedroom into Barbie manor until her dad - "Tornado Bob" - came through and wreaked havoc. hehe). Her mom is like a second mom to me, her dad like a second dad, and her sister like a "baby" sister. We have had periods where we may not have talked as often, or been busy with other things/people in our lives, but yes, I love her dearly, and I trust her with everything. She is someone that I can (and do) talk to about anything and everything, and she knows that the same goes to her. And she is the very best godmother to my daughter that I could have ever asked for. I love her very much.
Alena - Literally, friends since birth. Our moms have been best friends since high school. They both were pregnant at a young age (both about 20 when we were born). And they were pregnant at the same time (Alena is about 2.5 months older than me). Alena's dad was not in the picture, and my mom and dad separated a lot (and ultimately divorced) when I was very young. I know they were a strong support system for each other, and therefore Alena is almost more like a sister to me than a friend. And her mom is like another mom to me. We have grown up together, and while I don't get to talk to her and see her as much as I wish, we have the kind of friendship where we can go months without seeing each other, and when we get together, it's like we haven't missed a beat. I trust her and love her like I would trust a twin sister. We have been friends for almost 31 years now (since birth!) and have never even fought. We even used to spend weeks at each others' houses at times. We just know each other so well, and get along so well, she's like an extension of myself. I know without question that we will be friends for our entire lives.
