Speaking of Crockpots....Pimp your brand/model
My cheap crockpot recently broke into pieces when it was dropped a couple weeks ago. I'm glad because it overcooked EVERYTHING (probably because it was a model that is only $15).
So....what kind of Crockpot/slow cooker do you have? What do you like about it? Dislike? I've been looking at programmable ones but most of the reviews are split between great and being defective.

The bottom got super hot so I was always afraid to leave it on when we were gone, which kind of defeats the purpose. The finish inside the actual pot that you put the food in did not hold up. It's like the non-stick coating wore off or got dull or something so food stuck. And then it got a huge crack down the middle despite me being very careful with it, never dropping it, handwashing only, etc. I used it maybe 20 times max and I feel like it should have lasted a lot longer.

I probably would get the 7 qt one though instead of 5.5 if I were to get another one.
This is the one we have, and I love it. I just avoid the 'high' setting. I use the low as high and warm as low when I'm not home.

Me too! I love the lid holder, especially when we have guests/party--never have to worry about how to juggle the lid and your plate! It's big enough for a large roast....although, I do wish it had the feature to turn it to low after so many hours!

Sometimes I wish it was a bit bigger and sometimes I wish I had one of those that will turn to warm after the number of yours you program it for, but for my purposes, it's great. And the size is perfect for the two of us. It holds a whole chicken or about 4-ish lbs of a roast-size meat.
