Re: PG/Mom Check-In

  • We had an ultrasound today and our little girl is still a little girl, lol! :) She is 5 lbs 3 oz....yikes! I still have 9 weeks to go! She looks a lot like H in the u/s pics but I think she is going to have my chubby cheeks. Her heart rate is a strong 150 bpm and she was just chillin during the ultrasound. She was a maniac on the 24th and 25th. I think she likes Christmas, lol! She goes through periods where she will be really active for a few days, then really quiet for a few days. People keep looking at me and telling me I look like I am going to give birth any day. Gee, thanks....I think? I might start lying and telling strangers I am due next week.

Work is still miserable. I am so over it. The only thing keeping me going is the fact that I want to stay home with her the whole time so I have to stick with it. My doctor said I am not hurting the baby and I will go nuts just sitting a home, so he recommended that I continue working. I will suffer as long as I am not hurting my baby! I just wish I could sit down a little more at my job. 13 hours on your feet isn't always easy for someone who is not even pg. The nights where I have no time to sit down are the nights that kill me!

  • Welcome LaurenandMack!

I've had one super active baby lately. I just feel her constantly. I just don't remember Beckett moving this much! But I remember him having the hicups all the time, and she never does. These two pregnancies are really so very different in most every way.

I've been really tired again lately, as I was working so much for the holidays, and then coming home and baking and doing other Christmas related stuff, and not getting off my feet until after 11:00-12:00 every night! I'm so ready to just relax and take it easy for a while.

I'm such a slacker and haven't started the nursery yet. I know what I want to do, just haven't began buying stuff yet. My mom reminded me the other day that she had me in her 7th month, which I have just entered, so it was a wakeup call I need to get going, so we are going on a nursery shopping spree tomorrow!

  • Welcome LaurenandMack! I agree with Jen... your daughter is gorgeous!

Tomorrow I have my follow up u/s to see if my placenta has moved up. I am so excited to get to see Lila again.  I am also praying that my placenta has moved up and that I will not have to have a c-section. She has become quit the active little girl and is large enough now that I am always able to find her when feeling around my belly. Normally her butt is right above my belly button. Lila really cleaned up this Christmas.... she got so much stuff and she isn't even here yet! She is going to be one spoiled little girl.

My (9th) nephew is here!!!!!! SIL had a horrible doctor that enduced her 2 days before Christmas, broke her water shortly after and gave her an epidural at 4cm... have any of you ever heard of receiving one so early? Anyway, her doctor basically wanted to go home to his family and told her that she is not progressing and the baby was not coming (which was a lie) and talked her into a c-section. She is now in a tremendous amount of pain and its hard for her to even move around. I feel sorry for her and it scares the crap out of me that I could be in that kind of pain in a few months.

My nephew  however is one of the most gorgeous, tiniest little boys that I have ever seen. They were released from the hospital on Christmas and he arrived at my moms in a Santa suit, it was so cute.

  • Welcome LaurenandMack - your daughter is so pretty :)

Chelsea -- I am so sorry for your sister's experience!! Even if you do need a c-section I would hope that it wouldn't go like hers. I have heard of quick c-section recoveries and awful vaginal recoveries so hopefully whatever you experience is more positive!

I get an ultrasound every week now to check for moving, heartbeats, fluid, and practicing breathing. The babies did great today and the doctor said everything looks wonderful. I sorta cross my fingers when I go in that he will say "Oh your fluid looks low, you are going to be delivering in a week!" or something like that. Ahhhhh! I am 33 weeks 4 days and will probably be carrying these babies past 38 weeks. I know that is a good thing but I promise I would not be heartbroken if it came a little sooner :) (As long as babies were healthy!!)

  • Welcome LaurenandMack - your daughter is adorable!

Good luck with the ultrasound Chelsea - let us know how it goes.

We have our 32 week appointment today - nothing much new going on.  The inlaws have been here so I've been on my feet a lot more than usual and have noticed a little bit of swelling, but I don't think it's anything abnormal.  I can't believe how close it's getting!  I've had some braxton hicks contractions the last few days as well, it seems like they are getting more frequent, but still nothing that would make me concerned.
