Getting rid of creeping charlie in strawberry patch
I have a strawberry patch that was taken over by creeping charlie last summer. I got lazy and neglected my weeding duties, and that creeping charlie is wicked bad stuff!
We're getting our lawn sprayed this spring (much to my dismay, I hate chemicals) to kill the creeping charlie in the rest of our yard, but I don't want to spray near the strawberries. I plan on removing as much of it as I can then building a trench and lining the area where the strawberries are. How do I keep the creeping charlie from coming back in that area? Do I cover the strawberries and spray? The strawberries are well established so I don't know if it would be possible to move them. TIA!
