Update #2- trying to stay grounded
I met the BM tonight. She's a doll. We got 2 (awesome) bits of news tonight.
1) it's a girl!
2) She's now due April 5th- NOT May 5th.
We hit it off REALLY well (I feel), for our informal meeting at club. I met her father briefly, and we're getting together this weekend to meet more formally with DH and her mom & dad.
I'm trying not to get to excited, but it just feels SO right. I've now filled my Amazon.com shopping cart with little girl things.... I just need to push purchase.
Thank you for your prayers- they mean so much!
Re: Update #2- trying to stay grounded
I cannot even begin to describe to you how much I want this for you!!! I am doing my best to not get my hopes up too much also, but it's SOOO hard. So, I cannot even imagine how you guys are feeling!
Isabella and I are praying that this is it, and she has a new little cousin soon!!!
Love you!!
would this be an open or closed adoption?
one tip i'll give you if you're doing a closed one is to start taking any trace of you off the internet and such. a girlfriend of mine did a closed adoption here in az and local people adopted her daughter. well somehow she tracked down her daughter to they day care where her girl friend happened to work. she secretly stalked her daughter the entire time she was in day care.
as much as this girl was my friend, i found this incredibly creepy. it was supposed to be a closed adoption and as far as i know that parents had no clue that they were being "watched".
i know my brother and his wife had to do the same thing, by taking all their info off. they have the sort of adoption where the parents can send/receive one letter a year with pictures, but until the kids turn 18 and choose whether they want to meet their biological families, the parents are not to have contact. thankfully my brother and his wife have had no incidents, but i know my sister in law was very worried at first because one of the young girls was very intelligent with the computer and such.
my read shelf:
Yay, this is exciting and so soon but I hope it all works out for everyone involved. T&P's still your way.

Thank you so much everyone! Tomorrow we'll meet with the birth mother and her parents. We're anxious to meet with them, but honestly, I'm completely at peace with whatever her decision is.
