Need a referral please!

H and I would like to get our air conditioning unit looked at before temps rise like crazy! Back story is we bought our house in 2008, it was built in 2000. Nothing is wrong with the unit(that we know of) **knock on wood** It has worked perfectly fine since we moved in. No complaints! We are just thinking that because we don't know if this is the original unit, how long they last, or if and when it was looked at last, we would like to have it checked just to be sure. Does anyone know if companies offer an evaluation as a service? Just to see if it needs to be replaced anytime soon. We would rather get it checked then wind up with no AC on a July summer day!

Jenn L- I know your H works in this business, so any thoughts/ info you or any other ladies have is greatly appreciated!

  • Most companies will offer a maitenance check and they will go over your entire system and see if anything is wrong or needs to be replaced.  CJ says a unit should last at the very least 10 years but he likes to see them go 12-15 but he says it depends on how it was maintained and originally installed, if you want I can fb message you his companies info =)

  • I always use Parker and Sons for my rental property. It's a $70 charge for a maintenance check up and they're honest. I use Chas Roberts for our own home, but that's because it's a new build and covered.

  • I think if you have a home warranty some of the plans cover a system check to make sure everything is in working order...

  • Have you thought of maybe getting a home warranty?? We just moved to our home two years ago and our ac went out and they had to replace it and it ended up only costing us 1000 instead of $6500. I know your just wanting yours checked but that may be something to look into if something unexpected happens
  • i'm pretty sure it's george brazil that's doing a free check on your ac. i plan to give them a call
