Cat pee killing my basil???
I planted all my herbs and summer vegis a couple weeks ago and everything is doing awesome. Except my basil. So odd since it did so well last year...same spot. Well... my freakin' gosh....me and the kids are outside playing when our male fixed cat jumps up onto this huge pot with the basil and urinates in it!!!!!
Shocked. Totally shocked he #1 even did this. #2 In front of us #3 In the freakin basil! Yeah yeah, I know he doesn't know it's basil but WTH!
Can cat urine kill it? Would totally explain why it's dead.
Why ask why, when you know you're going to get a smart-ass answer
Re: Cat pee killing my basil???
Urine is loaded with nitrogen, which will "burn" your plants and kill them.
Those of us with dogs deal with dead spots in the lawn from dog urine.
Yes actually. Our cat is almost nine years old and mostly stays indoors. It's rare to see him use the restroom at all.... so to see him do this ...and two feet in front of us was quite unexpected.
