To see a counselor. I wasn't sure what to expect but I am happy I went. She was really nice and easy to talk to. She said she could tell I pretty much have made up my mind about the whole H situation and she gave me some ideas to help me sort through my options so I feel a little better about things. My goal for the week is to start researching some options and resources. I go back next week. I didn't tell H what we talked about. We are going to Orlando for the weekend to watch my brother compete in the Special Olympics and I don't want to get into it with him before we go and make the weekend miserable. But I feel a little better today and hope I find some good information online!
Re: Had an apt today
That's great Liz. I hope you have a good weekend.
IMO you should keep what you talk about private; for now at least. Wait until you have things figured out. Wait until you are more confident in your decision. It's none of his business. IMO..but I could be wrong.
I agree - what you talk about with a therapist should be between you and them - unless it's something you feel you want/need to share.
I'm glad that you've taken this step to figure out what's best for you and Aiden; you both deserve the absolute best!

Liz, I think it is great that you took this difficult step to sit down and talk to someone. And I am also glad that you find her easy to talk to. I went to counseling with STBXH and it really helped, not my marriage because there was to many wh0res under the bridge, but it helped me see where I stood and helped me find myself. I know how hard it is to sit down in front of a complete stranger and pour your heart out but at the same time how comforting it is to have an unbiased opinion and not be judged. For me it was difficult cause STBXH was there with me and after years of mental anguish, i was terrified to talk to the counselor in front of him.
I agree with the others, do not share with him what happened in your meeting and if your plans are to leave, dont tell him till you have everything sorted out.
On another note, if you ever need to talk, vent, have a stiff drink etc. I am always around. I am actually pretty close to you every Friday night.
Agreed.
I am really glad you finally went.
I love my crazy child!
