How to Get Rid of an Undesirable Plant?
I have a plant in my backyard that I would really like to get rid of. No matter what I've tried, it just keeps getting bigger. How can I get rid of it without killing the lawn around it?
Re: How to Get Rid of an Undesirable Plant?
Um...I'm pretty sure it's marijuana. We moved in here last month and we found it the first time we were mowing the grass.
So far I've tried pulling it out (clearly didn't get it all) and spraying vinegar on the roots, as per my grandma's suggestion.
Most people burn it.
HOWEVER, glyphosate will certainly kill it.
Are you sure it's not Vitex?
Vitex agnus castus looks just like marijuana. I can't tell you how many people have come to me with this. They all think they have a huge pot plant in their yard.

Hee. We get vitex occasionally. If you just keep pulling it up it'll go away. It leaves an unpleasant oily smell on your hands, so wear gloves.
Pot fronds are usually smaller. Or so I've heard.

Sometimes I wonder if scientists have never seen a sci-fi movie before. "Oh yes, let's create a super species of deer. NOTHING COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG." I wonder if State Farm offers a Zombie Deer Attack policy. -CaliopeSpidrman
