I feel HUGE...

no need to tell me I look huge too.

Just b/c I'm pregnant doesn't mean you need to make comments like "Whoa how far past your due date are you".. I'm not even there yet Thank you very much.

Re: I feel HUGE...

  • Oh, I know exactly how you feel! Hang in there, girl! Hopefully in a few weeks these comments will be over and everyone will be smliling and doting over your LO instead. I much prefer that to the "Are you have twins/triplets/quadruplets (that he'll catch with a net) comments. The end is near!

Why do people say such things? I will never understand.

  • um you look adorable in your latest maternity pics!
  • Yeah, I feel like people just don't think about it. After the billionth time that happened to me I just started making things up. I told one lady that I was part of a government experiment where I was impregnated by an elephant and would have a 12 month gestation. She was like "...really?" and I just walked away laughing. I had to have fun with it otherwise I was going to murder someone.

And I second what babygator said.

  • The world is full of tactless people.  There's no other explanation for it.  You look adorable and, even though it probably doesn't feel like it right now, that baby will be here before you know it!
  • Yeah, people lose an appropriateness filter around pregnant women. I swear I would get told I was huge one day, and the next day someone would tell me I better hurry up and start gaining weight because I didn't look big enough to be X number weeks along. And it's like strangers can't help talking to a pregnant woman, so they just ask and say dumb stuff sometimes. Ah, I do miss it though.

And I think you look great!

  • First, you look fantastic!

Second, people are crazy!  I had my first experience with someone touching my stomach without even asking.  I had just told some old college friends that I was pregnant and one of them reached out and grabbed for my stomach and said how she loved to touch pregnant bellies.  I was totally caught off guard and I'm not even showing so I can only imagine what I have to look forward to.

  • Aww Thanks ladies I appreciate the kind words and laughs.

Yesterday was just a bad day overall for me. I went to the OB to find out I've gained an additional 7lbs in 2 weeks (eeek, I had an emotional meltdown after finding this out.) The OB wasn't concerned, she says it is water weight by looking at my hands and feet. Normally she would be concerned with the swelling and weight gain but my BP is great (118/74) so no need for concern and my glucose test came back fantastic.

I have a growth u/s on Thursday b/c little guy is still measuring pretty big. Depending on what they say he weighs in at depends on if they are going to pressure to induce me or schedule a C-section (neither that I want, although I will do what is best for little man)
