Shows you're giving up on
Sorry if this has been discussed already.
What shows have you watched for a while and are now on the fence about? I've watched 30 Rock for a few years, but the last season seemed kind of weird. I'm a major Tina Fey fan. They made Liz Lemon too pathetic. Tracy, and Jena are way too weird now. I know they were always weird but My Gosh! They went overboard with it. Jena and her weird boyfriend.
How I Met Your Mother needs to introduce the mom/wife already! I think they are in this next season.
Re: Shows you're giving up on
I am with you on 30 Rock. I really liked it at first but last season I was a little turned off by it.
I am a Gossip Girl fan (my guilty pleasure) but it has been boring me so I am over it now.
I find myself giving shows a lot more chances now that I have DVR before DVR I would abandon shows much faster than I do now.
I've given up on Secret Life finally. May quit Gossip Girl as well, or just fast forward through a lot of it. It totally depends on the plots and what new characters they introduce though.
I will probably stick with Desperate Housewives since it is the last season but I fast forwarded through a lot last season.
Private Practice doesn't always hold my attention either so we'll see.
not very excited for the new season of Top Chef Just Desserts, the last season was underwhelming
I am over The Office as well but dh loves it still so I watch with him.

I have given up on all Real Housewives, except for the BH group (because they all seem new to me). I tried to get back into NJ but can't even make it thru an entire episode and I didn't even bother watching the last one.
Weeds - After watching the premiere for the current season, I stopped watching. They should have ended it last season!
Drop Dead Diva - This show has gotten boring and predictable. Get over Grayson already! And when will Jane ever lose a case?!
The Office - May not be watching the new season coming up. Haven't decided yet. It's not as fun anymore...
I have given Combat Hospital way too many chances. I thought it could be good, but they just don't have any ideas. I just think they should take a break with any new hospital shows for awhile!!
I also am losing faith on HawthoRNe. I loved that show but recently have started hating it. I still have to watch the season finale though. I'm not sure what else they can do with it.
Why can't they have shows like Friends anymore? It was on forever, yet it's the only show I can watch reruns still 10 years later. I've seen each episode like 10 times and still love it every time. They just don't make them like that anymore.
Hawthorne (love it in the beginning) no so much now.
The real housewives of New York.
For reals.
I tend to really like the first couple of seasons of reality tv (before they sell out and it's just one big giant commercial the whole time).
I've given up:
ANTM
Top Chef
Project Runway
The Biggest Loser
It's sad in someways, but I just feel like it's all about product placements now and I just can't deal with it.
I've also given up all of the Real Housewives because the story lines suck. I don't care about the fighting. I wish it was like with original OC with likeable characters (like Laurie).
The only shoes I really watch now are Parenthood, Dance Moms (can't seem to stay away from that train wreck), and 19 Kids and Counting.
A Pocket Full Of Dinosaurs
Pretty much all ABC shows. Greys, Private, Desperate. I actually gave up a while ago and I have yet to watch any of the finales. I'm done with Glee too.
I'll stick to Vampire Diaries, GG, Hawaii 5-0, Criminal Minds, and PLL.
*Live, Love, Laugh, Learn*
Travel Adventures.
Glee, 16 & Pregnant, and Millionaire Matchmaker. Possibly Flipping Out.
But it's so good this season! I think this is the best season in a while.
I haven't completely given up on any yet, but I'm giving several a last chance this season. If they don't step it up, I'm done.
Desperate Housewives (Last season was it's last chance. I was going to quit, but they announced it as the final season so I'll watch)
The Office
PLL (I really don't love this show, but I have to know who A is in the show, so I keep watching.)
Combat Hospital
Glee
ETA: Teen Mom.
Grey's Anatomy -- After the first few seasons I was over it. There were a few characters I couldn't stand. Hearing people talk about recent episodes just confirms my decision to stop watching.
16 & Pregnant -- Again, after the first few seasons I was over it. They go for complete train wrecks that aren't even entertaining and it's repetitive. I still watch Teen Mom, however, because I like seeing the original cast.
Modern Family -- The shows are hit and miss for me. Sometimes they're hilarious and others leave me a bit bored.
American Idol -- After this sucky last season and horrible judges, I may not watch next year.
I might give up on the new 90210, I just keep waiting for it to get better but it doesn't
Also, I don't watch the office anymore, it just wasn't funny last season.
Glee- I'm all for shows with numerous plot holes, unresolved issues etc., but it's not even entertaining anymore. Therefore it's just becoming a confusing, boring mess.
True Blood- I don't really have a reason, it's just become stale for me.
My blog about starting over, dating, life and all of its awkward moments.
We are giving The Office, Teen Mom, and Glee one more try then abandoning probably.
Definitively losing American Idol this season and probably a couple more that we can't even remember. (We DVR everything and moved recently, so we kind of get a clean slate.)
I agree with the PP about shows like Friends. I've been watching all 10 seasons in rotation since it cancelled. It never gets old!
The Office pains me sometimes because they have lost what seems the original feel of the show, but I'll still watch to see what happens.
Grey's Anatomy was horrible for a few of the middle seasons, but once they got over the Derek & Meredith drama, it got watchable and pretty damn good.
SYTYCD this past season was awful - it was the first summer season I didn't finish watching. And I gave up on ANTM long ago - Tyra Banks just drives me crazy.
I've started caring less and less about Jersery Shore and Teen Mom, but my H always has it on so end up half watching it.
I haven't given up anything because I have a DVR and watch very few shows in real time. If they get boring, I just fast forward. I do have some shows that are on their last legs for me.
Glee (probably fully over this one since I didn't watch the last 3 episodes of last season)
90210
Gossip Girl
Jersey Shore

This exactly.
I think I'll probably be giving up on The Office this season. It's been going downhill for a while - but last year really just wasn't funny.
I gave up on Grey's several years ago. Right after the incident where Meredith almost drown. That episode was good - but had the feel of a season finale - only in the middle of the season. Lost my attn after that!
I think I have 28 unwatched episodes of Modern Family on my DVR.
