staying with family?

December we are going to stay with H's 1st cousin(they are more like sibs. since they are both only children) for 4days. Should I take her a hostess gift? Its our big family Christmas in Nashvill this year, and there will be 5 fam.s of 2 or 3 staying at her house. Do you think we should take something just for her as a thanks for letting us stay? Oh also we are not doing presents for the adults just kids...

Re: staying with family?

  • What a sweet thought.  I would definitely take something to her.  Maybe something like a christmas/cookie smelling candle/something pretty for her tree.  I think it's really nice that you thought of this.
  • That is a nice thought.  Shamefully, whenever we have stayed with family I never thought of bringing a hostess gift.  It's something I can consider next time.  But I would just get a gift set from bath and body works (if she likes that sort or thing) or some candles of her favorite scent.  Or bake her some cookies and put them in a pretty Christmas tin.

    Siggy coming soon....
  • That's sweet of you to think of her. I would take something for her as a thank you. I would say maybe something for the house (nice candle) or maybe a nice bottle of wine if they drink. They can relax after everyone leaves lol.

  •

That is such a nice thought and a great idea!! I am sure that she would really appreciate it!! I agree w/ a yummy smelling candle, a Christmas decoration, or baked goods.

  • Thanks girlies ya'll are great. I may just do cookies and a candle. or maybe a sweet christmas orn. since she is preggo.
  • A gift would be very nice.  Everyone else had great suggestions.  A tin from Harry and David (just because I'm looking at their catalog right now :P) would be great, and everyone loves Christmas ornaments! :)

  • I think I would take her a little something. A nice bottle of wine for her to enjoy after all those people would be nice.

  • That is very nice of you and something I should do more of when we stay with the IL's.  She probably has meals covered, but I agree with a candle or potpouri (sp?), or bath salts/bubble bath/shower gel/lotion for her to relax once everyone leaves.  When we go to my IL's house for holidays, I do take snacks for the family between meals, like biscotti, cookies, or brownies.
  • So sweet of you to do that! I agree with everyone else---candles, wine, ornament...
