Wow. He is very very lucky.  I hope this gives him a new sense of purpose, etc -- he has been going through a really hard time mentally the past few years since his tours with the army...

ugh, I hate that their are still troops over there! both of my brothers were over there and it was so stressful. My brother's BIL was also over there and sadly he never came home. I am so happy to hear your BIL is safe! Hang in there.

this scares the crap out of me, my 20 year old nephew is headed there this summer and I want to throw up looking at it. I am so glad that your BIL is doing ok and I hope this can be a turning point for him. Many prayers!
