We've been going to Franklin Park Peds and love them so far!
As for a PCP, I see Dr. Melissa Harris...she is over on Woodley. I'm not a regular doctor going, so I've only been a few times but really like her, I find her very relatable (she is close to my age and our husbands are in the same occupation).
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Franklin Park Peds!!!!!! They are amazing. I've seen every doctor there at least once and honestly, love them all. My faves are Haider, Al-Ayoubi and Murtagh. I switched to them from a very popular group here in Toledo and it was my best move yet.
As for me, I see Dr. Laungani with Sylvania Family Physicians. I really like her a lot, she is on Holland Sylvania in Sylvania. The entire group is nice, they just took on another doctor. They are all female too

I think in your particular case, you may be better off on doing the legwork and calling peds office to find out what they are on board with. I could think of no good reason to delay/skip vax...especially since my child is in daycare. Since you reference 'our children' I'm assuming you already have at least one or more? If so, who do you currently use? And if you don't currently have children, you may find yourself surprised at what you will and won't take your child to the doc for.
There's no point in visiting 20 doctors and finding no one we like, hence the reason I'm searching for recommendations.
While you may not think of any good reason, I have done an incredible amount of research and reading, and I have many reasons.
We went to a ped with our first son that we were never happy with. We only went when we felt like it for certain well baby check ups. She is local to us, but now I am branching out realizing I may need to travel further to find a doctor we like. I travel an hour to Sylvania to my wonderful midwife group (Associates in Women's Health).
You are certainly right about something. I am very pleasantly surprised at what kind of parent I am. We did go to the very young well baby visits as new parents, but my son has never been to the doctor for a cold. We did have to take him for an ear infection once, but we didn't find that very helpful and instead now have a chiropractor for our son that prevents the ear infections.
She wasn't suggesting you visit 20 Dr's, she was suggesting you call around and simply ask, "Do you see unvaxed kids"? because there are many Dr's who will not see unvaxed kids in their offices. I have a friend in the Detroit area who could only find one Dr. who would agree to see her child who is not vaxed. I don't know of any parents on this board who don't vax so we may not be able to give you a good recommendation.
you know, I really hate it when people take what I say and twist it. I said call peds offices, I did not say visit 20 of them. When i said I could think of no good reason, I meant for myself. My daugher goes to daycare, she needed to be vaxed and I'm quite happy it is a requirement and the other children there are vaxed as well. We have taken our daugher to the ped for two occasions outside of well baby checks and one was because I was a nervous new mom dealing with horrible congestion for the first time and the second was because the daycare suspected hand foot and mouth (running rampant at the time, but she didn't have it, but a double ear infection was found). And I honestly don't believe antibiotics are prescribed for a common cold.
For the record, research can be found both supporting and descrediting nearly anything and everything. I'm glad you did yours, but I did mine as well.
As far as I know I think all the moms on this board vaccinate, so that will just be a hard question for us to answer for you, unfortunately. I would suggest calling a few local ped offices as well. Maybe you'd be better off with a doctor that has a more holistic type approach which may have to be a family or general practitioner, not a ped.
While I vaccinate my son, I did delay a few and didn't allow all of the recommended vaccines in one visit, I spread them out and ran into no issues with our peds regarding my wanting to do that.
I feel like sometimes moms who decide they don't want to vaccinate just assume the world is going to be against them and are expecting a fight.

This is where I go too. I love my doctor. I haven't been since my yearly checkup last summer so maybe things have changed since then, but even for sick calls I could get in at least with a nurse practioner usually the same day if I called in the morning.
I started having issues with them in the fall and things have just continued to get worse. I used to love that office and recommended it all the time.
I had no way of knowing that no one would be able to help me with recommendations until I asked. I assumed because there seemed to be a small group of ladies here that prefer midwives/natural births that there may also be some knowledge of a kind of doctor I'm looking for. But if what you say is correct, then I was wrong for assuming such a thing.

I didn't know that there were a lot of you on this board that had midwives & natural births. Guess I should check the board more often :-)
We believe in vaccines, but that doesn't mean we take our LO into the dr when she has a cold to get antibiotics. I'm not sure where/how that correlation comes into play.

I did not say "alot". I said there "seemed to be a small group". It was through these forums that I found the recommendation for my current midwife group, Associates in Women's Health. Again, I am sorry for assuming there may also be recommendations for the kind of doctor I am looking for. There is no need to be so rude to me.
I really don't think she was trying to be rude to you, I think she was more commenting that she hasn't checked in or posted on this board in a very long time.
