Bistro Ole - Asbury Park

Has anyone been to Bistro Ole - I hear it has good food.  We are going on Saturday night, but wanted some feedback.  Also, I heard you can bring your own wine and they will mix you Sangria - is this true?  How is the Sangria?  I have no idea how much wine to estimate for 5 people - any suggestions?  TIA

We love Bistro Ole!  The food is fantastic, the staff is nothing but fun, and yes if you bring the wine they will make the sangria for you (which is really delicious!).  I would say two bottles of wine for five if you're having sangria and aren't looking to get blitzed.  Be prepared for a wait for your table though, it's always crowded but well worth the wait (and they don't really have an area to wait in - most wind up waiting outside and this time of year the wait is going to feel longer than it is!).  We've even walked down to Trinity & Pope for a drink when given a 45 min estimate for our table a time or two.

so question about the sangria - without a liquor license what do they mix the wine with??  i am excited to go - we were told to call around 5ish to put our name down on the list so the wait time isn't as long.  on a saturday night - if we go for 7:30 how long do you think we would probably end up waiting?

They mix the wine with sugar amd fruit. I prefer viva in belmar Bistro ole used to be my favorite place but the quality and taste the last 2 times we went I was disappointed. But maybe because we had been going since it opened and there were many chef changes since then, it wasn't what I was used too

Ole is one of our all time fav places to go! I am not so sure about putting your name on a list thing.. they normally do not allow that.. but maybe it is a little slower and they are making exceptions. The sangria is great!! I will tell you if its just my husband and I going we can finish a bottle of wine .. and we are not big drinkers. Enjoy!! Your gonna love it!!! Julieann... you know that Vivas is closed right??

Thank you ladies - I am looking forward to it - I am just trying to figure out about the wine.  Ugh that is the hard decision - we are 5 and the 3 girls like wine and we drink sangria often in the summer, but not sure how to estimate - we will figure it out - thanks!

Why don't you bring 3-4 bottles...then have them mix two to start off with.  You can always pass them another bottle for more if you feel like you want more and if not, take the wine home!  Enjoy!!!
