Am I the only one who is NOT a fan of Kristin Hannah?

I've read Night Road and Firefly Lane, two wildly popular books, yet I thought they were both overdone, way too long, overdramatic, and just dumb.  They each had the potential to be great (interesting storylines) but... blah.

  • I'm 50/50 on her. I liked Firefly Lane well enough but agree it was LONG, too too long, just drawn out. I read Night Road and didn't like it much.i read it, it had some good parts, had the potential to be really good but was just okay at the end of the day.

  • I read Firefly Lane, but didn't think it was anything out of the ordinary. I'm also not a fan of Jodi Picoult. Ugh!!

I hate Jodi Picoult! I have tried a few of her books and really do not like her style.

  • I am not a fan. I hated night road. The story was ridiculous. It started out good but became a soap opera.
  • I read Firefly lane and thought it was just ok.  It had a lot of chick-lit cliches in it (like a woman yelling at her husband during labor).  I remember the description was "in the spirit of the movie Beaches, this story..." but basically it WAS Beaches.

  • Hated firefly lane, skipped to the end just so I knew what happened.

  • I agree her books are nothing special. I don't hate them but i sure don't love them either.
  • I read Firefly Lane, and so far that was enough to keep me from reading any of her other books.  I finished it, but mostly because I refuse to give up once I've started a book.

  • I also just finished her new book last night - I didn't realize she'd written it until I p,urged it into Goodreads. It was pretty good - better than Night Road - but as with her others, drawn out!

  • I didn't love Night Road.  Very cliche but readable.

But Jodi Picoult - UGH!!!!!!  I hate her books!  The last straw for me was the one about the kid with Aspergers who witnessed the murder or whatever.  Awful, badly written, and annoying.
