I work in a healthcare facility and have an issue that am trying to figure out here. I accidently came across an email that was printed out and in a folder in the desk (which I share when I come to work-per diem) between my superior and my boss above her. It explains that she was considering writing me up for insubordination (turns out she never did) because she realized she was in the wrong and I did nothing of the sort. Anyway, the reply from the big boss said, if she didn't want to write me up she could just not schedule me for the next month. I was only schedules for 1 day that month, when I may normally work 2-3 days at least. Neither of them ever brought up this issue and discussed their concerns with me about what had happened. Can you consider this retaliation since they denied me hours based on something I did not do? And, can I do anything about it to get the big boss in trouble? They are both CRAZY and try to get everybody in trouble every chance they get. They are both new to the facility ( in the last 5 months) and I have been there 4 years! Sorry so long, thanks for reading!
Re: HR nesties..would you call this retaliation?
Hard to say..they did call you in and its not like you usually work 2 weeks and then were called for 1 day.
I would just pretend you never saw it and leave it alone...actually I would probably make a photo copy of it...save for a rainy day :-)

I am not HR either but I think if I could get away with making a photocopy of that email, I would and keep it in my own file at home, just in case the need arose to have it. Otherwise, just losing 1 or 2 days, I dont think I would say anything because they could probably find other ways to make you miserable. See how next month goes....maybe since these people are new they wont last long, who knows.
My neighbor is suing her former employer (and they are big) for discrimination, unlawful termination, etc and anyway my point is if people have it out for you, they have it out for you. She has all their documents and she found out they called HR on her 200 times in like 2 years without her knowing....its unreal.
SOme of these places are so unprofessional too! I say photocopy it and keep it under wraps for now. GL!
