Brown couch, crimson curtains - what color pillows?

In an effort to give our living room a mini-makeover, I'm going to buy new covers for our throw pillows.  Our couch is brown and our curtains (which are directly behind the couch) are a crimson/deep red color.  I really like the look of some yellow damask print pillows I've found but would the yellow look okay with that color curtains?  The other option is a print that would match the curtains - that option would still bring color to the couch but probably wouldn't pop quite as much as the yellow.  Thoughts?

What color are your walls? Do you have any other accent colors in the room?

The walls are cream - there aren't many other colors in the room, which is why I want to bring a pop of color in.

bright yellow.  Or maybe electric blue.

I would do a pattern that brings in the color of the curtains along with some other colors, not something matching the curtains or something solid. You could then bring in additional pillows or a throw in one of the other colors that you want to play up in the room.

I would probably do orange before I would do yellow.  Orange is at least a neighbor of the red, so it will add a new color without contrasting TOO much.  I'm afraid that the yellow would stick out like a sore thumb......but it's hard to tell with out a photo to see what the style of your room is, etc.

ME too. THey have held up pretty well. I like all the demention to them. Lots of layers and textures.
