I'm trying to be more concious of what I use and thought of checking out some different shampoos and conditioners. I HATE the smell of vinegar though, so no options with vinegar rinse, etc. which I've heard of. I have been trying to use vinegar to clean instead of all the chemicals in regular cleaners, but it smells like feet so I'm just not a fan.
Anyway, any recs for good shampoos and conditioners that are from an eco friendly company and not animal tested? Thanks!!!
PS - I have hair just passed my shoulders and it is thick - not color treated and not heat styled very often. I shower at night so I very seldom have to blow dry my hair - I just usually use a straight iron on days I do fix it. And I usually go at least every other day with washing it if possible but lately my scalp has been super itchy so I have been using some of H's Head and Shoulders but I can't use it often because it seems to really weigh my hair down.
Re: Eco friendly shampoo/conditioner?
I prefer sulfate free shampoo's because I love what they do for the texture of my hair. My current favorite is Natures' Gate - available at Whole Foods and Target. http://www.natures-gate.com/about/sustainability/
Their website has good info about their sustainability - which I just glanced at today - but sounds like a pretty good company?
Also, have you tried apple cider vinegar? Totally different smell :-)
I'm currently using Beauty Without Cruelty volumizing set and liking it. I have fine, on the oily side, hair. Not color treated and only blow dry once a week these days.I also bought another volumizing set from them at the same time but don't like it as well, although it's great for DH's dryer/courser hair.
I bought it from iHerb.com for a great price - here's my referral code if you'd like it - it saves you $5 off your first order, and shipping is free with orders over $20.
