If you are on Zoloft, what is your dosage?

I am on 50mg and have been for almost two months.  I feel like now that I'm used to it, I could maybe use a higher dosage.  I don't know-is this a standard dose?

Re: If you are on Zoloft, what is your dosage?

  • 100 mg.  I've been taking it for 1.5 year.  IMm just starting to wean now (take it every other day) and it sucks.  I'M seeing my doctor tomorrow, thanks for reminding me that a smaller dose exists, lol.
  • Ha ha, no problem!  Can I ask why you are weaning?  Have circumstances changed in your life or are you better able to handle your anxiety?
  • I was put on it for PPD.  I was waiting for good weather (my doctor says weaning in the winter is bad) and for my work to get more relaxed and flexible, because I know from experience that it is usually a very painful process.

I don't know that I need it forever...although it is the 4th time that I have to take ADs for 1+ year, but I am always fine a few months after the weaning is done.  And also, the only times in my life where I've been overweight were after like a year of ADs, so I figure since I feel good, I'll try to wean and see if I lose the weight.

  • I was on 50 for about a year and had to up it to 100 about a year ago.

  • I am on 50.  I was on 100 a while back but was able to scale it down over time when I got a better handle on my anxiety.  50 is my happy place.  It takes a long time to find the exact right medication so I wouldn't make any changes after only a few weeks unless you really need to.

  • 100 mg. I started at 50 and moved to 100 after a couple of months. I've been at 100 for 4 years now. I'm on it for anxiety.

  • I had severe anxiety in my mid-teens. I was on 250mg. If it's not managing your symptoms properly, you can either increase the dosage, change or add in another medication.

  • They will dose anywhere from 50-200.  I started on 50, went up to 100, turned into a zombie after a while, weaned down to 75, and stayed there for another year.  Just remember that more isn't always better.  You have to balance the benefits of the dose with severity of the side effects.
