This is exactly what I fear; yet I am surrendering to the fear and can't wait to do the rest of the floors
I want one so badly, especially now that DS is crawling and playing on the floor. He had dog fur stuck to the drool on his face today, but we have central vac so DH won't go for it, plus Dyson's are like double the price in Canada.
We emptied our central vac canister last week and it looked like a full-grown lab.
I promised myself I would vacuum the upstairs before bed but wasn't going to bother. Thank you for the urgent motivation!

I convinced my DH that we needed one, and being an engineer, he had to test it out as soon as we got home. We vacuumed with the old vacuum, then the Dyson. The amount of stuff the Dyson was able to get that the old vacuum didn't was frightening.
And DH came home yesterday and asked if I had had the carpets cleaned. I said no, I just vacuumed. The Dyson sucked up so much dirt and dog hair it looked like the carpet had been cleaned.

It's especially horrifying now because we live in a home that was built in the 1920s and for some reason it accumulates massive amounts of dust. It's absolutely disgusting to see what it pulls out of the area rug we have in our living room.
I wish they made one for hardwood floors.
Yes, my house is ancient with the dust to match. All my heat is going out the cracks and the dust is coming in.
I only have one carpeted room and I fill the canister every time. Good thing this damn dog is cute.

This is exactly what we did. It was ghastly and the carpets did change color.
The Dysons sold down here have a one button switch to hardwood. Are they different in the states?

yes, until near the end of the month i believe. h got ours at bb&b, so definitely not as cheap as sue sue got hers. and they won't let you use another coupon w/ it. it's posted in like 10 different places, h tried to act dumb at the counter anyway, and he was denied.
ok, thanks! Ugh, it's so expensive but if it's that good then I need it. Since we got the dogs the cream rug in our living room looks soooo dirty all the time.
