Hi..new here :) Re-doing daughter's room and have questions.

Hi!  I am hoping to do both rooms on a budget and am hoping to paint an antique furniture set being given to us by my father in law for my 2 year olds room.  I am not sure how to do this and am looking for suggestions/tips.

Thanks!

  • Are you asking how to repaint furniture?

Depending on how old it is you might need to decide what the finish on it is (if it's old enough A) I would hate to paint and B) it could be waxed which paint won't stick to).

But generally you clean it, sand it with a fine sandpaper, clean it again and get all the dust off, prime, and repaint. Glossy paints are better wearing than flat. You can also clearcoat the finished project for additional protection. If it's a dresser or bedside table I'd consider getting some poly sheets custom cut to use on the top to help protect the suface.
