I am new here but this seemed like a fun way to get started!!
- What's your next big project you have in mind for your home?
DH and I are actually buying our first home at the end of the year, so this list is endless! For the house we picked the projects we have lined up are installing bamboo floors and a kitchen island. We are also trying to pick a room to make a "secret room" hidden behind a bookcase.
- Did you take a fun vacation this summer?
We are taking a cruise to Mexico in two weeks with the ILs and some of DH's other family. Super stoked!
- What are you most looking forward to for FALL?
FOOTBALL! And being able to wear sweaters without ldying. I have a skin discoloration on my arms so I always cover-up with sweaters, and since we live in FL I am always burning up!
- How did you meet your spouse/significant other?
We met in high-school. 11th grade. He was transferred into my economics class two weeks into the school year and the only empty seat was next to me.
- What's your favorite "trend" right now (regarding decorating, fashion, whatever)?
Skinny belts, cardigans, and the color gray being EVERYWHERE!
- What's your next big project you have in mind for your home? We just moved in so we have lots of projects: getting some new windows, trimming tree branches, painting the exterior of the house, redoing landscaping. List goes on and on.
- Did you take a fun vacation this summer? Yep, a week in california! Did 4 days in San Fran with a day trip to Napa, then drove to Carmel for three days with a road trip to Big Sur. Amazing!
- What are you most looking forward to for FALL? wearing fall clothes again
- How did you meet your spouse/significant other? We worked together in high school
- What's your favorite "trend" right now (regarding decorating, fashion, whatever)? Stripes on walls--painting horizontal stripes on our hallway this weekend!- What's your next big project you have in mind for your home?
Right now everything is a big project. We're getting it ready to move in.

Hubby and I took a quick overnight trip to Nashville which was pretty good.

Decorating the new house with a graveyard for Halloween.

I don't have a particular one but I'm loving Pinterest for all my ides.

New baseboards and door casing, new roof/siding/deck, new front door and the list goes on and on

We went to Disney World for our Honeymoon in May and we've done a few day trips around where we live in Michigan

I don't consider myself super trendy but I really love using canvas to decorate with it. There are just so many options for what you can do.

insulating the crawlspace. I know really interesting.

I am going to the gulf coast for labor day. yippeee!

Oh sad... I will miss summer but I do like wearing my knee high boots!

I love all of the teal items. For some reason I am always drawn to them and they make my day.

We just bought our home two months ago and it's basically brand new so nothing major needs to be done. We do want to add a stone backsplash in the kitchen though and eventually finish the basement.
- Did you take a fun vacation this summer?
We got married this summer and went to St. Lucia. It was more than I could have asked for.

Football (GO GIANTS!), apple picking, and local fairs.

We met through mutual friends while on vacation. Well, I was on vacation (he lived there).
- What's your favorite "trend" right now (regarding decorating, fashion, whatever)?
I'm not a very 'trendy' person but for fall I love cardigans over button-down shirts with skinny jeans and ballet flats.
- What's your next big project you have in mind for your home? Get my living room done. I wanted it to be a more formal space without a tv. But being next to the kitchen life would be a lot easier if it was more livable and family friendly so my daughter could hang out in there while I'm making dinner.
- Did you take a fun vacation this summer? We are going to California next week, can't wait to get away!
- What are you most looking forward to for FALL? I love fall festivals!
- How did you meet your spouse/significant other? I was the receptionist in the salon where he came in to get his hair done. Here we are on our wedding day in the very spot we first met.

Yes, Lake Tahoe. We packed fun summer wear and it snowed. But it was so beautiful & fun!

- Did you take a fun vacation this summer? We went to Aruba in April. We are off next week and will probably just do daytrips.
- What are you most looking forward to for FALL? First meatloaf & mashed potatoes dinner. But I really don't like fall so I am not looking forward to it much at all.

- What's your favorite "trend" right now (regarding decorating, fashion, whatever)? I love the new naturalish stained woodtone but don't need any new furniture. I also love the black trim/moulding but would never put it in our home.
What's your next big project you have in mind for your home?
We are about to move into our new build next week so it has been an endless (but fun!) project picking everything out. My next project though will be setting up DD's playroom.
Did you take a fun vacation this summer?
I went to visit my dad and grandmother in South Carolina and my sister and her family went as well. It was fun but I hope to have a vacation with DH sometime before too long (though the new home may put that on hold for awhile)
What are you most looking forward to for FALL?
Moving into our new home next week! Also, continuing to decorate our new place.

He was my younger sister's TA in her math class (back when he thought he wanted to be a teacher. I think her class scared him away and went and got him MBA instead!) I met him when I went to pick her up from school (I was in college and back in town for xmas break)

I am huge fan of Quartz countertops over granite.
Don't do it. If you have single pane, I'm guessing they are old wood? You'll never, ever make up the money, no matter what the mfgs say, especially in CA, and you'll just be ruining the aesthetics of your house. Also, you'll put the house in a rip-out-and-replace cycle (length depending on replacement quality). Old growth wood windows will last centuries if you keep them in good condition (painted, reglazed, etc.). The old windows are infinitely repairable and I encourage you to find someone to rehab them rather than ripping them out.
Ignore all of this if you have some other sort of single pane (aluminum, etc.).
- What's your next big project you have in mind for your home? Nothing big - I'm in the process of painting pretty much everything then will have lots of little decorating stuff to do.
