I love the ocean! We are leaving tomorrow for my favorite beach---Wrightsville Beach, NC.
When I was 23, I had a boyfriend who I was with for over a year. We had a great relationship but he always talked about wanting to go away for college. He was in the navy and was discharged). Well then he decided on Wilmington, North Carolina (10 minutes from Wrightsville Beach). I was shocked because he had made the decision without consulting me, even though we were in love and had a great relationship. Well he asked me if I would go down there that summer to be with him. He was leaving in April. After giving it a lot of thought I said "what the heck." It was the first time I ever left my hometown and it was the best summer of my life. Our relationship grew and I ended up going down there every long weekend I could. We tried not to go more than 3 months without seeing eachother. This went on for 4 years. Wilmington was my home away from home. I loved it so much.
Our realtionship ended in 2006 when he started to become very selfish. He didn't want to get married and that was kinda of a deal breaker for me. We had already been together for 5 years. I left him and started a relationship with someone else. (A BIG MISTAKE). That was around 3 years of hell.
In 2009 when I started online dating I ran into a profile that said, "North Carolina back to the Jersey Shore." Well that sounded a lot like my life so I clicked on it. It was Dennis (my DH). I sent him a message asking him where in NC he lived and he said Wilmington! I couldn't believe it. He was moving back to NJ three weeks later!
So now DH and I have Wilmington in common. We talk about how when we get teaching jobs we will go down there every summer for a month. It's our dream. So now, we just vacation there when we can. We both have friends down there so it's nice.
Married the love of my life on 1-21-12. Our princess arrived on 5-28-13.
